It depends on gun prices in your area, and how badly you want that particular gun. It seems a little on the high side to me.

A gun shop has one listed on GunBroker that has a few days left. It's at $117.00 with no reserve. I would think $200, maybe $225, would be as much as I'd want to put in it.

Savage has just out with this combo again in the Model 42. List price is $459, so you can probably pick one up for $350-$400 new.

The 410 shell isn't really what it use to be anymore. Between the cheap 22lr ammo, 20gauge and CCI making all the shotshell cartridges for different calibers, the 410 has a pretty narrow market.

I had planned on picking up one of those Savage 42s once they became available. Some DDupleks defense slugs, bird shot and a pocket full of .22lr make for a fun day in the woods.
