Combat boat maybe. But survival boat? That thing is too big of a fuel guzzler for survival. Not much storage room either and no real shelter.

When I worked a dredge off of Virginia Beach, the Navy would run exercises out of a channel we were in quite often. The boats were the 40-50' cigarette/scarab type outfitted with all types of stuff mounted on deck (but covered). They would usually run night ops so I assume they were SEAL and/or diver teams.

That THP boat is in the same league.....guns and horsepower.....true "man boats"

If Texas is anything like some other State's the Highway Patrol is also the State Police.

As already said, they are using them against the Mexican Drug Cartels.

Because it's Texas.............. but Id' figure the Game Wardens from Parks and Wildlife would have something like this before Highway Patrol.

Yes the Highway Patrol is the State Police, but so are Game Wardens and a few other types of State Agents.

thinking ahead a few years, some lucky bidder will get that monster at auction for 25 cents on the dollar.....
that 900 Hp setup has to be a bitch at the fuel station...
Ill stick with the one i have though, I run twin gm/mercruiser 3.0 140's and only get around 4mpg going with the wind and current on a no chop day running light, and at 3000 rpm. crank it up, add weight, and it can drop down to 2 mpg. and im told thats way better then most pleasure boats are getting.... them big boy toys are often rated @ gallons per mile .....
