Where should I put my supplies? Where should I put my gold or silver coins? Where do I put all that dam# ammo I picked up recently? Where can I hide my guns? Where can I hide my family in case the shi# does hit? These questions are very important to all of us. If we work together we can come up with some really cool ideas.
Here is one: Install a second furnace. Hollow out the furnace and use it as a safe. Install fake electrical, vent pipe and heating ducts.
Can you spot the fake one?
You can use the fake furnace heating ducts to store more of your valuables.
You could hollow out a dryer and use it to cover a safe. Remember to put a bolt on the dryer door so it doesn't open. Can you spot the safe in this photo?
This is something that I recommend to anyone that is looking for a way of holding a gun in a certain position that won't interfere with it being pulled out when needed. It is also awesome for the door of any safe. They are available at Home Depot and Sears. They are 24 inches long. They are made for holding tool, but WOW they work perfectly for holding up to 4 small handguns or 3 regular size handguns. If you install 4 of these on your interior safe door it can safely hold 12 handguns. It can be placed in a closet up high where your kids can't get to it or in a cabinet. If you place it in a cabinet you can put it on the roof of the cabinet by the opening. If the cabinet is low to the ground no one will see your gun, if they look directly into the cabinet :thumb:
Here is another example of furniture that comes with hidden compartments. Most roll top desks have back compartments. This one here is similar to one I almost bought 10 years ago. It also had a rear compartment for storage.
If your yard is already loaded with rocks this would be perfect for you. If you don't have any real rocks start buying them then add a fake rock among them. It is great for storing whatever you want.
Ever thought of adding a removable panel to your house? Obviously you will have to put up some covers so no one knows what you are doing but this is definitely doable. Behind the removable panel you can place whatever you want between the studs. You could even extend the wall further out if you want.:thumb:
How to do it:
Remove a section of your siding 4x8 section or smaller. Buy the same type of siding you currently have. Mount it on a 4x8 plywood panel or smaller panel. Place whatever you want to store between the studs. Install the new section. If you have to paint it to match, do so. Use galvanized screws. Remember to paint over them or at least cover them up with trim.
Once again furniture can be used to store your valuables. This post bed has end caps that are removable. Your post bed caps could be removed to store gold coins. Remember to put your coins in a sock nicely knotted together so they don't move around giving their location away. Once your valuables are under the cap glue the cap back on. Use wood glue.
For those who have more money than me. I suggest this cool idea. Imagine all your toys above your head well hidden until you press a button. In this photo they are hiding a bed. You can put whatever you want to hide on this gadget.
If you are looking for a cabinet that has more than one purpose, try invisivault. They offer this nice cabinet for hiding your valuables. Here is their web address http://www.invisivault.com/ . They offer several nice items for storing your valuables :thumb:
If it helps someone, it is worth all the time and effort. I get a kick out of finding new things that I never even thought of : I have employed several of these ideas but gave them my own twist. These ideas are good starting points. It is up to the individual on how they are going to individualize/customize it to their needs.
Sped Man, I can't believe you don't have an award for this post. I've been subscribed since I first saw it a few weeks ago. Thank you for keeping up with it. I can't imagine the amount of time it takes you to find all of these.
If there was a way to nominate you for an award, I would. Thanks again!!
Upandawaystorage.com has this really nice product that you attach to your ceiling to conceal whatever you want. It operates on a remote. Hit the remote to lower the unit.
I don't know who makes this but it was being made a few years ago. I believe it is the same company that makes the two safes that you place under your mattress. This one can be used in front of your bed. It looks like a bed chest (?). The exterior is lined in wood. Great place to hide your Play Boys or Big Ums :

Looking for a good hiding place in your vehicle to store survival gear? Here are a couple of suggestions. Some are easy and some require a little time to create.
This one seems to be popular with drug dealers and politicians.
Here is an important video that can save your life and those you value. Especially if you have been kidnapped or whatever. It shows you how to escape from zip ties and handcuffs. I was amazed how easy it was to break those zip ties.
