Where should I put my supplies? Where should I put my gold or silver coins? Where do I put all that dam# ammo I picked up recently? Where can I hide my guns? Where can I hide my family in case the shi# does hit? These questions are very important to all of us. If we work together we can come up with some really cool ideas.

Here is one: Install a second furnace. Hollow out the furnace and use it as a safe. Install fake electrical, vent pipe and heating ducts.

Can you spot the fake one?

You can use the fake furnace heating ducts to store more of your valuables.

You could hollow out a dryer and use it to cover a safe. Remember to put a bolt on the dryer door so it doesn't open. Can you spot the safe in this photo?

Looks like a normal counter top but is it?

:thumb::D:For those looking for a safe room, here is another idea.

There is no room here right?

I guess there was a room there.

Here are a couple of simple ideas for storage. Most can be bought.

If you are looking for a good ideas on how to bring the inlaw with you when you bug out but fear that you don't have enough room in your truck to carry them, well here is a good idea on how to transport them ;-) 7 out 10 illegals swear this works! These three unfortunate individuals voted against the idea

I saw this and I couldn't resist:D::thumb: Can you find Waldo?

oh wow....

I'd like to know how they counter balanced the staircase...
Add some trim to the bottom and close it up to match the adjacent wall. An intruder could walk all around the house and not figure out how to get to the second floor.

For those building a hidden room, don't skimp on insulation. Its very easy to tell which room is occupied and which isn't. Drywall, stucco, and 2x4s don't offer much sound proofing.

Not sure why I'd hide my supplies, guns & ammo

I just keep my gear on a set of shelves.......

They'll stay there unless the gooberment starts doing random searches......

How many guns and boxes of ammo do you think fit inside a commercial pool table?

These bad boys come with a side door that is lockable. Paint the plexiglass with frosted glass spray paint available at any Home Depot or simply paint it black. If they can't see inside of it they won't know what is in it. They will assume that it is just another pool table and that you have all your valuables in your bedroom.

I made one of these years ago prior to remodeling the house. It is still one of my favorite ideas. Who in their right mind would go to the broom closet to look for valuables? Basically what you are looking at is a wall safe covered over with a rectangular sheet of pegboard that has some nice wood trim on the ends. Remember to paint the rifle safe the same color as the pegboard so it blends in. The pegboard can be hinged to the wall like this one or screwed into the wall. Remove the screws to reveal the safe behind the pegboard .

I am an electrician and one of the best ideas I've heard of is to install a dummy electrical panel in your garage and use it for hiding valuables. They have places for padlocks and most thieves wouldn't take the time to pry even a cheap lock off of a box with a "Danger: High Voltage" sticker on it.

Yet another good idea (from a plumber friend) is to take a short length of PVC pipe (diameter to suit your needs), seal one side, cut the appropriate sized hole in a concrete floor (hole saws are available for rent), insert the pipe and seal around it with thinset, and cap it with a plumber's test plug. It's waterproof and looks like an access point to your sewer if done properly.

Looking for that bug out vehicle that can transport your family and your supplies to safety? Here is one that doesn't rely on gasoline or electricity. Weld a metal top on it and you can haul your supplies with you. Not a bad secondary bug out vehicle especially if an EMP were to hit.

Image

P.S I would eliminate the secondary steering wheel. Only one person should be in charge of the steering! The other will be needed to defend the bike.

Imagine cutting out a section of your floor in your house. Replace the entire room's floor with that prefab panel type flooring. You nail or glue every section down but one. The one over your supplies won't be glued or nailed. To lift the panel out all you will need is suction cups.

You could cut out a 1x2 section of your floor to store your valuables. Save the section you cut out. Install 2x4s around the opening of the hole to support the panel you removed. Now go out and buy this type of rug. Install the rug. Now your hiding place is hidden from view. Only you will know which square section is covering your floor opening. To lift up panel use suction cup.
