If I could start over I would have listned to everyone and went with tried and true options instead of trying to blaze my own trail.
My first .22 pistol was a Sig Mosquito. I ended up getting rid of it because of consistent FTE/FTF after about 100 rounds. I should have listened to everyone and went with the Ruger MKII or 22/45. Taking heed with my next purchase... a Mossberg 500. Oh... and more ammo when it was cheaper! |

If I could start over I would have started buying firearms when they were cheaper. Back before the gun craze hit.
Only things I would have changed was buying a PTR91F. And a .22LR kit. I would have just skipped a ruger 10/22, marlin model 60 and a Mosin Nagant. Also would have probably skipped buying a Saiga as well. Keeping my browning hi-power 9mm clone and magazines and not selling them. Would have been my ideal set-up with the 9mm, PTR, and my maverick 88. But in the end I'm glad I owned what I have. I didn't make any bad choices in firearms. Only thing I regret is selling some off because I had to pay some bills. But this year is a diffrent year and I am rebuilding the family. Will be selling my Saiga for a PTR91 G.I. or Classic. Another 9mm pistol is on it's way. Maybe even a .357. Will never part with the 12ga maverick. It's a cheap gun but is solid as a rock. |

i would keep my choices the same.
calibers-22lr (pistols and rifles) 9mm luger (pistols and carbines) 7.62x54r (in both bolt and semi auto) 410 shotgun (currently only in long gun, but hopefully soon in a revolver) the one change that i would have made is i would have waited on a couple of firearms (i try to have at least 4 of each for redundancy) and gotten a couple of different reloading options in my stash. i currently have none and am researching in order to be able to fill this gap. If I could start over, I'd have taken advantage of the cheap M1 Carbines... when they were cheap. I got in on that game way too late. Also, lots and lots of ammo.

Ive recently been forced by a home fire and a lack of insurance to almost become an unarmed citizen. Now that Im nearing the time to start rebuilding my arsenal, Ive decided to curb my love of firearms and buy only the items on this list. I do still own two or three of these so its not such a daunting task over the next three or four years.
rifles/longarms pistols m1a squad scout browning hi power ar15 5.56 with 20"brl sig 229 in 9mm arsenal ak 7.62x39 fnp 45 ruger 10/22 1911a1 remington 870 ruger 22/45 ruger gunsite scout 308 colt 1917 rossi wizard ruger or smith .357 hawken bp percussion rifle in .50 cal hawken bp percussion pistol in 50.cal if i cant fight the urge or i get a really good deal on them probably a few sks and lee enfield 4mk1s see im already giving in to temptation. |

Instead of getting the stupid Sig P250 for my first gun I would have gotten a Glock 19 to begin with.
You have to be careful about first generation stuff. Everything else is perfect. |

I wouldn't have paid 50 bucks each for Hk-91 mags!
It was the late 80's though...who knew they'd be selling for a buck each 10 years later?! |

Ive got a 9mm sig sauer 2022 on layaway that I plan on picking up by april.
-less price on ammo -easier to shoot then If teotwawki doesnt happen I will plan on a rifle, AK I think. Dont know if Ill get 7.62x39 or a "smaller" bullet. I think Im doing better than before. I owned a 45 but the ammo price is outrageous. Trying to be realistic, I think the 9 mm is better. I also owned a Saiga AK that was fun and fit for my purposes , I believe. But Im going to think about other calibers... I do like the AK platform though due to realiability and ease of use and cleaning.. and price. I think Ill get another AK. Then probably a 22 caliber rifle for hunting... if I ever get this far.. ps, Ive also considered a keltec sub2000 cause its the same 9mm handgun round. Just not sure if its a nice for me as an AK. |

3 things I wish I could have changed bought a ak when they were cheap ( can't find a decent ak now for less then the price of an Ar). Wish id gone 9mm instead or 45 ( just can't afford to practice as much as I want with every pistol I own being in 45vs9mm). And wish I had a 10/22 over my marlin model 60

3 mosins, 2 SKS-M/D, 2 Arsenal SGL31, 2 Glock 19, 2 AK47 Draco, 3 10/22. With all necessary optics, mags and ammo.
This is for several people though, Im the only gun nut in the family and I wont leave them defenseless. |

I would not change a thing.
My journy to where I am at as far as firearms are concerned has been great and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I should have ordered a stack of regestered sears and sideplates in 86. |

http://classicarms.us/Saiga.htm just scroll down the page a little bit. they are almost at the top. you can get em in 223,7.62x39, 5.45x39, and usually 410, but 410 is out of stock right now. |
