Not a surprise to me after what we have read about the expiriences of Dsarti and vs2s.
The show is about ratings, not really about informing people. Kev, thanks for the link. |

Good thread. Glad we were able to see someone who was actually on the show, because frankly I was starting to think that many of them were, well nuts. I mean one can pick up some stuff on the show, but lots of it is kind of like - what the heck.
Just as this guy said, BO when he would be better at home in many circumstances, and then bugging out through some areas where he would be very likely to suffer an attack. He did clear up a lot for me. The main reason I have been saying, " Ill watch it once more," is because of these "experts." How in the world do they know what the odds are of something happening. Economic wipeout - slim chance? PLEASE ! |

I agree with that to an extent, but people are getting into prepping more and more. I feel that most people can see the "experts" are pure silly, and the way they show those prepping doesn't place them in a much better light either.
People watch the show to learn, not to watch a show in the same caliber as say Americas Dumbest Criminals or America's Funniest Home Videos. I think they would get a more loyal following if perhaps the show was a bit more genuine. |

I look at it as entertainment with the potential to have useful tips or information. Kind of like watching a fishing show. It's a 1/2 hour and they are pulling in fish after fish. In realitly it was filmed over an entire day, not 30 minutes. However, there could be some tips/tactics learned.
Same goes for this show. You get roughly 12 minutes on each person. If a person is well prepared, you're not covering all their info and preps in 12 minutes. Nat Geo is chopping the film and showing us what they want us to see, plain and simple. And of course they have an agenda. First and foremost it is to keep you from changing the channel. If they were truely interested in informing people on prep, they would take the entire hour to cover one person, not four. Showing some woman force her handicapped father and the rest of her family to dress in a rediculous "global pandemic" outfit and go outside does not do anything but make you think this woman is a nut job. |

I like the whole concept of DP but really wish they would reformat it. I can't believe they're going to be able to stay on the air if they keep going they way they are. They're going to run out of people who want to participate.
and PS...dude in the white cap...your pants are unzipped |

I do have to agree that the show is more for entertainment & ratings than for informational purposes. However, I also have to admit that I did get some great ideas, that I'm researching, to see if I can work them into my designs.
I will leave it at that. Good to watch once in awhile if there is nothing else on for a decent tip once in every 3 shows. |
