I have seen a couple in gunshops in connecticut, which have been very reasonably priced. I am not sure where you are located. They are going for alot on gun broker. I have never seen too much response to people seeking arms on the forum, I think there is alot of legal complications, or potential issues. I have a savage 24d series P 22/20. I love it, its kind of fancy real nice wood. Try to get a older one with what they refer to as the "mono" barrel, because the newer ones can have issues with the fact that the barrel is not soilderd the whole length. Consider the .223/20 because there is chamber inserts which allow the use of Hornet ammo in the .223 chamber.

If you can wait, Savage announced the model 42 at the shot show. Basically a 4.5lb model 24. if you do a search for savage 42 one gun writer has a brief and photo on it.

I have a USAF issued 22lr /410 version in like new condition that comes in the standard issue camo soft case.

It was issued to a family member of mine who was in the Air Force in the late 70's. I don't want to sell it, but my Mom has cancer and I need to raise funds to help pay her medical bills.

Great condition, only been fired a few times ever. I only remember firing once it with my dad at the range when I was a kid.

Make an offer. I'll try to post pics if you are still interested.
