Default Taurus CT G2 carbine?

Advertise Here

So, Taurus makes a 9, 40 and 45 version of this gun. Anyone own one? I'd love to see how these shoot. They look a lot like the H&K USC. Whick in their own right is cool. But not for the price they are asking.

The taurus is comming in at around $630 or so. Which is a good deal for a .45 carbine that is all tacticooled out. Having a 9mm and 40 s&w. Is also a great option. But run the same price.

Pictures? Don't mind if I do.

also flat top

I think these will go either way on the market. Either they will do really well or just tank. Still would like to see a ligit review on one.

I think with after market magazines, stocks and pistol grips would help sales.

Oh..how could I forget a video XD

They are pretty badd@sss!!!!
I have only seen the pix on the taurus sight but I am eager to hear something about them as well.
I bet in the next three post someone will rant about buying a carbine in a pistol caliber because it is pointless and dumb ... oh and someone will hate because you can attach stuff to the rails.

Either way it is nice!!!

Nice looking gun. But at 11lbs and over 31" you'd be better off getting a CX4 Storm.

Let's hope Taurus can keep up the QC with this one.

If so it looks promising

A little pricey with the other competition in the carbine market, I don't think they will sell all that well and store prices I think will fall quickly, I'd wait a year or two until the prices normalize.

Their price point and weight is just way too high. The Hi-Point carbines are still the king in the cheap side of the market since they are actually reliable, accurate, great shooting carbines. Now if Taurus made these take Glock magazines....... then yes, I'd own one anyway.

In short:

I would never carry a gun that weighs over 10 lbs unloaded, unless it fired a full powered cartridge. For a PCC that's just way too heavy.

Last I checked hi-point didn't make a .45 carbine. For me I'd like gun do to it having the 45 option. All the other carbines in 45 are expensive as hell.

I think it lacks good after market stuff like stocks and grips. Because the one it has is fugly. Also the lower handguard is weird and could use to be a full tri rail all the back. not just the front tip.

I think it's heavy because it's mostly metal. Which isn't such a bad thing. I like my friends Storm in 9mm. But to me it's too light. And for $900 I want metal. And lots of it. Too much plastic for me.

Need to find one of these and shoot it and see what's going on with it. They are the only .45 carbine I've found for around $600.

Just my $.02

Nice!
I think I'd rather have the Keltec 9mm carbine to use my Glock 17 mags, but I'm sure the Taurus will be affordable and decently made.

That was my thoughts exactly. More like the poor mans usc.

Wonder where they got the insperation?

I played with the hi-point carbines before. The two I've shot, both 9mm. One in stock config. Which I didn't care for so much. Ang the other with an ATI stock that looked and felt like the PX4 storm. Also have shot a PX4.

Would still like a 45 carbine.

Always like the folding Kal-tec 9mm. Which i'm trying to get my friend to let me take out shooting. Or atleast buy from him. He wont budge tho.

I've shot a few rounds through the semi, but down in Brazil I shot a lot of rounds through the full auto version in .40, which is sweet. It is heavy, but I like the design elements, especially the trigger group & the who bolt assembly. I have some high hopes for Taurus this year...I spent time with the engineering/design team, the QC people and the management both in Miami and Porto Alegre...the new head guy in the U.S. is an old friend who've I've worked with at both Sig and Mossberg...

I don't care for the stock. Give me a telescopic or folder, and for gods sakes just get the SBR version and shell out the extra dough for the stamp.

The rifle is the CX4. And I find it funny how people call them ugly. Throw an ATI on there and the thing looks exactly like a Beretta. The only thing wrong with them is no high capacity. The day they do that they will take the market.

Man, that thing is Ugly! I'de stick with an Uzi over that anyday. If it was SBR or at least had a Folding Stock it would be cool.

I also like the front of the mag well on the Taurus. Looks like fast reloads, and a good hand-hold.

its just my opinion, but I think its ridiculous to own a semiauto that fires from an open bolt. youre giving up accuracy without the benefit of volume fire. if you can call that a benefit
