I have basic automotive skills and do most all maintenance on my vehicles but am wondering if there is anyone with the knowledge that can tell me if my truck can be converted to be not dependent upon electronics/computers, etc.

Not that model. The last of the fords that could be converted were 93's. The injectors are oil pressure activated. Lots of sensors, and not really an injector pump like the traditional diesels.
Not saying it can't be done, but it would be one heck of an undertaking. Lots of electronics under the hood.

You can do a cummins 6BT swap... You'll need some kind of mechanical fuel pump and a 5/6 speed tranny... Without it, you wont be able to start it in an EMP attack (roll start)... You can also do a 6.9 or 7.3 IDI swap...
