Default Weaver Arms Nighthawk 9mm

I know a guy looking to get rid of a Weaver Arms Nighthawk 9mm carbine (or I guess it's now classified as a pistol?). He purchased it new many years ago and doesn't shoot it anymore.
It functions well.
The local gun shop offered him $200.00, and he told me that he would sell it to me for $200.00.
Does anyone out there own, or has owned, one or these?
What did you think of it?
Is $200.00 a good deal for one of these?
The local gun shop told him that he would have to register it as a pistol before he could sell it. (Michigan)
I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.
Thank you,
Tim

Personally I'd avoid it but that's just me.

Here's one on Gunbroker with some interesting info in the listing.

not for $200 but if you buy the conversion kit you will be light years ahead of the chicken hawk, uh, night hawk.
