Default Outdoor Tattoo Ideas

Advertise Here

Hey guys

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo that shows my love for being outdoors. I've seen some hunting and fishing ones but I'd love it to be more general than that. Do you guys have any suggestions or tattoos of your own that embody this? Images would be awesome, but even a description would help get some ideas flowing.

Thanks for the help!

Go to a tattoo shop, look at the artists' book (of previous work) then find the one you like. As him/her to draw you something, it is polite to offer 20-50 bucks for this drawing just in case you do not get a tattoo and they are not out a few hours work.

Yeah of course. But I figured I'd ask around an outdoor forum to see if they had any ideas. After all, they are the type to spend a lot of time outdoors and maybe come up with something that represents that love. I plan on taking all the ideas (from browsing online, this thread, and the artist's work) to try to come up with an idea for what I want. If it doesn't work, I will resort to them coming up with something on their own. Thanks for the tip though!

Read the rest of my post...they are artists that are use to people walking in saying "I really like trees and the color pink, I want a pink tree that is awesome."

Most of my ink has been done in this manner and the outcome is far less cheesy than us non-artists can come up with. Trust me

I'm always a big fan of the huge eagle tattoo on the back or chest that turns into a turkey when one gets older. Both are birds in the outdoors, there ya go.

This is just what popped into my head.

Leaves have veins. Pick a leaf design from a tree you like. Have it designed so that the veins look as if they are veins of your arm as well. Might be a cool effect.

Camo your upper body so you can strip down and still not be seen.

Woodland would be cool, but digicam would be more interesting.

If you don't get your face tattooed then your less of a man than Iron Mike Tyson. So I recomend tattooing Les Shrouds face over your own so the wilderness takes you serious.

All jokes aside..

Think about what you really enjoy about the outdoors... Go from there..

I have seen some serious back pieces that depict a whole mountain/river theme and I have seen some really cool little ones like animals or vegetation..

For me, a buffalo symbolizes all that is wild in this country. That's just me. Some people would say that a buffalo is a strange tattoo, or ugly, but that's yours to decide.

I have actually really thought about this, on my right arm, to help cover some crappy tats I got when I was younger. I was thinking about working in an American flag into the tat, maybe replacing one of the "large" patches of tan with it.

It would definitely be a head turner!

I am wanting to get a tattoo on my left shoulder of a running stream with two guys fly fishing one of them pulling in a lunker rainbow trout. I have a picture of my dad and I in waders fly fishing right next to each other with him pulling in a rainbow. That is gonna be my next tattoo.
