This is an excellent PRINTABLE survival cheat sheet. Meant to be printed on the front and back of a single sheet of printer paper, then folded up small to fit into your kits.

Includes instructions on how to print it correctly and fold it up.

Since your son is a scout, here's a very large website full of scouts crafts, ideas, and activities. http://www.e-scoutcraft.com/toc_fnail.html

Some of the projects are even fun for adults

It's my pleasure to pass on good information and resources. I've printed a copy of that survival sheet for all of my bobs/bags, etc...
I figure that if you're suddenly in a bad situation, you may be in a bit of a shock, and having that to read will calm you down, and get your mind back on track so you can survive.
Plus it'll give you something to read if you're waiting around a while for rescuers

Thanks for posting these.

I hate to be stupid but I'm having issues with the directions on how to fold it. Can someone clarify this for me?

Thanks.

You just fold it end over end on each line. Think left-right-left-right, etc....

Fold it in half so its long and skinny, then fold it accordian style...

/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ <---like that

EDIT: now that i think about it, it doesnt really matter how you fold it, because since you need to read both sides, you have to unfold it completely anyway....

One of the parts of the sheet is using a watch's hands as a compass. I can't help but feel sorry for a lot of kids that only know how to read digital watches. They would read that part and go "Hands? Whatchu talking bout, hands? It's 4:42:31!"
