IMO these events are trial balloons. Getting folks used to the idea. And that they can come and it will be peaceful, why not bring the kids to show what democracy and peaceful protest is like? (they will make a great photo when the organizers make it violent next time and the cops move in). Unicorns, rainbows, just a big get together of good folks.
Around election time it will be made to get out of hand. And there will be reports about the upstanding folks who went to the 'event' and got hurt by the evil establishment. The real brains and muscle behind it will never get caught.

They're really shooting for the stars. A whole couple hundred protestors after promoting the event for months...

LOL Only thing the protest did was get stores to open on Saturday. Normally that place is dead and empty on the weekend.

I'll give the protesters this, they did help the economy but now how they think.

The one on wall street looked like a scene from I Am Legend. The 100 freak march with a few dozen reporters. More people are on the rapids of the Grand Canyon on any given Saturday.

They are already occupying the mayors office, by Rahm Emanuel!

They're called community organizers.

Good for them!!! Hope there are more organized protests to come, with informed people not just band-wagoners (which is often how informed people start as). Some of the problem in this country is that many figure whats the point, arent paying attention, its just for hippies, or dont care. The more of an interested and educated populace we have the better we have.

Some may consider it meager in scale but it may be a start, and many still fit in the whats the point, not interesed/or care category.

If protesting is pointless when is it worth it to protest? I my self would like to see the lobbying groups barried and tied from assisting any parties or gov involvement. Also I d like to see anyone who exploits the finances of the USA people and economy to not just tried and pay some money back but treated as a traitor and sentenced as such.

unemployed or not is irrelevant, I am sure many are employed. (edit) irrelevant was to strong of a statement, bad times often wake people up. But I am 100% that all arent lumped in together in the "soup line" and if they are doesnt mean the are dole receiving irresponsibles.

theres a reason why so many protestors are college students or in that age group. Every day less and less people have jobs to keep them away from protesting. Or whatever. Many have given up. Many never looked for anything but public dole anyway.
