I am guilty of this, I spend way to much time obsessing over what could happen. Balance is something I have not been able to achieve.
To often for me it's all or nothing. When I know whats coming down the pike at us it's almost impossible for me to go back to life as I used to know it.
That world no longer exists for me. I am mired in the doom.

The secret to finding that balance is to stop with the predictions. That does nothing but keep you focused on "what might happen." The reality is that no one knows what's going to happen. Even if we did, there's nothing we can do to stop it, and little we can do to prepare specifically for it. So it's best to try and prepare for "whatever happens" and just keep alert so you can spot it in time.

I stopped playing the scenario game a long time ago and I've been a lot more at peace since. I'm also much better prepared now that I'm not trying to prepare for some specific event. So it was beneficial in more than one way.

I agree, the first thing everyone needs to do is stop with the predictions. The facts are hard enough to deal with let alone all the 2012 crap about stuff no one can defend against. War, economics and politics are real problems as are disease, famine and natural disasters. I think thats about all the worry I can take . KF
