Default H&R Pardner 12 Gauge Home Defense Shotgun

Advertise Here

Just picked up an H&R Pardner 12 Gauge Home Defense Shotgun. Quality seems to be as good as my Mossberg 500, my Remington 870 Tac Express and my Winchester Defender. Already started modifying and am quiet please with the results.

It's a great buy. I've got one and will probably add one or two more if funds permit.

I made a peep site for it this evening and painted it black to match. It functions well (dry run) and looks great all for a whopping 33 cents. Took 5 minutes worth of time to basically install a weaver rail and slightly enlarge the tap hole to accomodate the eye bolt. Came out so well I might end up doing it on all my shotguns.

i see you have almost every common pump action shotgun. one day take them all at the range and make a comparative review video.

I saw one at Big 5 for around $180. Payday is the 6th. A Mosin is also coming in to the store that day. I just paid off my credit debt. I think I'm going to be happy.

I'll put up a review after it gets some sweet love.

I'm glad you posted this. I just asked the kid at Big 5 and he told me $199. The managers are usually cool and will give you the sale price if you ask... so I'm going to remind the kid there is a thing called the "sale price."

I got both the Hawk 982 and the Pardner from Big 5... when I lay them side by side the ONLY difference I can see really is the Hawk has the ghost ring sights... but I notice that NIB the Pardner seems to chamber much more smoothly. You have to rack the hawk a few times to get it as smooth as the Pardner. I know Norinco makes them both. I wonder if they are made at separate factories. Does anyone know. (BTW... there is a great write up a guy did where he and his dad cut two Remington 870s and two Pardners apart... sad to destroy such good guns... but his dad is a metalurgist and wanted to compare components. The Pardner came out very very favorably.)

I bought one and works great. Used it for deer hunting w/slugs, home defense (load w/ 00 buck/slugs), and security. No issues. Enjoy.

I've got one and a dept. issued Hawk 98. The Pardner is a bit smoother, but I sure would like it if they came with ghost rings like the Hawk.

The only downfall that I found in my research is that it has to go to the factory to swap out barrels . I had a deal going on a 18.5" or so barrel ,but wanted to be able to bird hunt efficiently with it , and wanted a longer barrel with chokes . Maybe I need to buy 2 whole guns

X2 I just bought that little snap on green rod/vial.LOL BTW JUST picked one up myself less than 24 hours ago. First SG!!! Usually I have buyers remorse feeling that inexpensive =cheap. Says made in China, no chokes w/ it and plug whatchamacallit installed to limit shells to 2. Nearly black w/ syn stock, looks nice. $200 @ Academy sporting goods. Also 250 rds of 11/8 os 7 shot Winchester "X-treme " game shells @ $49. Bought 2 .But what the hell do I know about SG shells????? God I'm such a noob. Wife is happy too. Can't wait 'till we hit our property in the country. Should have my Mosin by then too.

Post your mods!!!!! Please???
