Question doulton vs berkey vs katadyn

Advertise Here

Hello. My first time posting anywhere ever.
I'm in the market for a filter. I thought I had it narrowed down to Doulton or Katadyn but I see alot of people here talking about Berkey. In fact I haven't seen anyone talking about Doulton (which I thought was the best). I want a drip filter for the family in case of a disaster. Which one should I get and why? Is there a reason no one's talking about Doulton? Also, should I consider a purifier instead?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Been using Katadyn for over 20yrs.

Never had any problems, I consider the best.

Default sawer

OK, so I checked into the sawyer purifier. 1.It looks like it filters and purifies more than anything else I've seen. 2.It's also good for forever (with simple backwashing). 3.And it's reasonably priced. Do I have all that right? Why would anyone buy anything else? How can it be the best filter and never need to be replaced? It's hard to believe. If I understand it right then it looks like sawyer wins hands down.

Which Sawyer is being recommended? Looking for household system. Prefer reverse osmosis, but getting parts/filters in a world gone to crap is problematic.
