Yo, make us a video on "how to poop in the woods".
Several examples, some folks can't squat or stand on one leg, etc.
When you use folding shovel, what's the trick with it and butt cheek?
Trowel vs shovel vs boot heel.

This helps in the appreciation of the magnitude of importance for the bathroom stationary.

Another one deserving a sticky! This is one of our most discussed topics. It'd be nice to have all the information in one place for reference, and maybe to keep down the TP threads since the newbies can't be bothered to search first.

Though I have to admit, they're some of my favorite threads!

Mullein, comfrey, old sheets or t-shirts... those are ubiquitous and not too hard to adjust to.

Free phone books at the post office. In the old days people used pages from Sears and Robuck,Woolworths, and other catalogs, as well as newspaper. Probably will stop up modern plumbing, but for a latrine/ outhouse it would work fine. Another option would be to have a pail, put soiled paper in pail, take pail to burn barrel and burn with other trash,or bury it. TP

Lucky I'm not sensitive to poison ivy. I'm growing a few plants. Now stinging nettle really would do a number. Hint, don't try it.

You could always use just use water or a wash rag. But personally I'd rather have the tp.

Honestly after the TP runs out, I think we will be getting poop on our hands and washing them in short order....

I'd rather have it too. The folks in these threads that give a hard time to people stocking TP always remind of of the "you can't eat it" folks in the precious metals threads. Sure it's not critical to survival.

But a lot of us stock other things that aren't absolutely critical either. Luxury items that make life easier are good for morale. Coffee isn't critical either, but I bet some of the anti-TP folks are stocking that. Why stock only the bare necessities to eek out a miserable life during a SHTF situation, when things like TP make life easier and aren't costly?

In places that have had crashes, TP is always one of the valuable items on the black market. Along with other non-critical items like coffee, booze, tobacco, etc.

I'm with you MikeK (weirds me out because that is my initials too). Stock the round paper. It may not last forever but it could last until you can buy more!

ok, I dont know why people dont see this as a better alternative, but I personally stock baby wipes.

they come in sealed packages, in like 10 packages per box. I have them stacked in the shed. And we have rats, but they havent touched the wipes. they have nibbled on the few bags of TP that we have though

baby wipes are MUCH more compact for storage, and packaged much better too.

PLUS, you are much cleaner/sanitary after wiping with these over regular TP.

Trust me, convert to baby wipes.
