Default Kel Tec PMR-30 Barrel Recall

Advertise Here

From reading other threads I know there are a few PMR-30 owners here. I just popped into the KTOG forum and read a release from Kel Tec regarding a barrel recall of sorts. I knew some PRM's had a keyholing issue. It seems KT has determined the rifling of the barrels is the root cause. They are changing the rifling and eliminating the fluting on the barrel (for ease of manufacturing).

It's not a recall...it's KT posting it on their FB page and website. I am happy to see KT announcing this...I just wished that they would keep the fluted barrels...I liked how it looked on my PMR. I haven't had any keyholing issues, so I'm not sending in my barrel unless I have issues with it.

I was lucky...my BIL told me about a gun shop in Cocoa Beach, where the KT factory is. Apparently they are also a KT distributor and have a good relationship with the factory. I sent a deposit at the end of January, they called mid-March and it was in. 349.99 + Tax...they also had spare mags for 24.99, so I walked out with the PMR and 2 extra mags for 400.00. I was happy with that!

Yeah same here. I have not had any issues with mine, and have about 500 rounds through it.

I am looking forward to getting my hands on the RMR-30 when they come out.
