Default High Cap SCAR heavy mags

I know Surefire makes some sweet high-cap mags for the FN SCAR 5.56 rifle. Is there any such thing as high-cap magazine for the .308 version? Or a high-cap .308 mag for any platform? I really really want to buy a SCAR in .308, but I want the option of having the extra rounds like the .556 version.

.308 mags for the SCAR are still in the unobtainium category for now. prices for the rifles themselves only recently dropped to reasonable levels and it will be some time before the mags come down in price. anywhere i see the magazines for sale the prices are nearly double what they should be which means if you want one that badly youre going to pay someone a premium for that privilege. even still, im hoping the OEM mag prices arent ridiculously priced because if they are im not buying a SCAR. im still not happy that a USP 45 magazine is selling for the insanely overpriced amounts they are.

as popular as the rifle is, and as good as its reviews have been, mag manufacturers would be foolish not to produce hi-cap and aftermarket mags. i knew someone with a 50-round magazine (drum) for a FAL and the SCAR mags arent much different in design so id make an unprofessional wild ass guess that yes, someone will have a higher than 20rd capacity mag. if my memory serves me, which is usually doesnt, i seem to recall him saying the 50rd mag cost something like $400 or so.

My buddy bought his SCAR H last Friday, so far the gun is awesome!!! The only heavy about it is the round that's gonna hit you, the gun is very light for 308. Price tag at my shop is $3295 and they have one left all black like my SCAR L but I won't be buying one anytime soon at that price. I love my SCAR L and the price of it was a bit hard to swallow but glad I bought it.

So a 20rd mag isn't enough for you? Most 308 semis use 20rd mags and the SCAR17 is the same...having anything larger will compromise the rifle while shooting in the prone position. I can see a 25rd mag being offered, but I find that 20rds of 308 is plenty of firepower.

Heck the factory FN mags are pricey and tough to locate...and I'd pass on the CProducts mags if you are smart.
