Just go and buy it.
It's a good deal.

Then convert the furniture to AK style.

This is an order.

Personally I'd go with the MAK unless the Saiga was professionaly converted not some ham handed guy in his garage. The MAK can now be unbanned and turned into what it was meant to be, Chicom AK's are really nice!

Ok. The mak 90 is a good quality chinese AK. I got one for 300 w 8 mags. Never should have sold it. Never one hiccup and plenty of rounds i put thru it. It has a thumbhole stock. If you want to change the stock or put a pistol grip on it you have to change out other parts to US made parts due to 922r. The saiga however is made in the izmash factory in russia where real AK's are made and it sounds like the pistol grip etc.. Has already been done. Hard choice. Cant go wrong w either.

If its an ARSENAL build on the Saiga, do that... Norincos are battle ready, sure. But Russian built trumps Chinese. $400 is a good deal. Get alot of mags, preferably E. European ribbed ($10ish) and several thousand rounds, $200 per. The thumbhole stocks suck, but you can get an Ironwood designs, a Hogue, or whatever you prefer. Or leave it alone. =) Dont know if you have to be 922 compliant with US parts- being grandfathered in? Check.

The MAK90 is one of the better AKs on the market...

The Saiga is one of the better AKs on the market as well...

You can't go wrong with either one...

That's quite a good price for the Norinco. Almost on par with the Century made junk. I'd jump on it. They have a long reputation as an excellant version.
