I've owned both. They both fit my hand nice, but if I had to choose, I'd take the G21.

You realize the pitchforks are getting sharpened and the fires kindled as we speak with that statement?

as someone that owns or has owned both i prefer the Springfield as a more comfortable weapon - now if it was the xd tactical it would be no competition as it is both more comfortable and more accurate for me.

Glocks hurt my hands. The XDm is the only one that doesn't, which is why I own one.

My hands are on the rather large side, and the Glock just doesn't fit in my palm right.

lol ironic they don't fit my hands right because my hands are too small and the trigger is too long a reach for me to be able to use it correctly

I like the fact that the XD has a grip safety. Other than that, they are an overpriced Croatian pistol. Being Croatian, it (like most things from the Balkans) gives the impression that it was assembled at gunpoint, buy a man sweating profusely, enduring inhuman working conditions. It also looks funny, like the grip angle was an afterthought. It's oddly porportioned, we'll put it that way.
I'm a Glock guy. I done drank the Glock kool-aid, and came back for seconds.

Glock 21. XD's may feel better but they are not the equal in any other way.

The grip safety is the main reason I would choose the XD.

Theres a reason that all the Police Depts around the country use glocks. They are second to none IMO.

I own neither but have shot both, i would choose the xdm above the glock, mostly because i like the trigger more on the xd.

Well I think Glocks been around longer before the XD showed up....

....not gonna go with something new when you already have a large inventory of something else that does the same job....

I've know several LE guys that either traded in their Glocks for XD's or wish they could.

No one denies that Glocks are outstanding guns, but don't think there aren't other fish in the sea, bro.....and just as nice......

To me, the XD is the Glock perfected.....

....that's my .02 cents

Oh no you didn't!

I actually did a lot of research when it came time for me to buy my first plastic gun. I ALMOST bought an XD. But the Glock just fit my hand better, and also-----It was avaliable in OD Green. The XD was not at that time.
I had to have an OD green pistol.

Oh yes, I did....

I think it really comes down to which one fits you better. They are both the same in reliability and other areas.....

I just couldn't stand the Glock grip. The XD feels more like a 1911 and I like that. The Glock feels like.....well.....a Glock. Plus XD's got this on the slide:

Newer XDM in OD:

LOL! Wasnt there some issue involving accuracy with the earlier XD's? Something about their barrells being out of spec, and only being able to shoot 5-6 in groups? I think they resolved it by putting "match grade" barrells in all of their pistols. I guess that's one way to achieve Glock perfection without buying a Glock! Just throw a match barrell in there to compensate for all the rest of the SUCK in the pistol.
Just eggin' you on, you know that.
