Do Himalayan Rock Salt Lamps actually work?

Some people have told me to get a Barefoot Connections Earthed bed pad and a Himalayan Rock Salt Lamp. It is said to shield you from Positive Ions which are bad for your body.

im lookin at getting a him rock salt lamp, i think they look cool. and they produce negative ions to put into the space

shoes and not being grounded is one of the worse things humans have done to themselves

this book is the first of its kind to my knowledge, it will explain about grounding and the effects on humans.

http://www.lessemf.com/emf-shie.html this place has fabrics and other things you can make to do grounding. use it with your pc, on couch, as a sheet for bed. another great thing about grounding is it pulls away all the emf/elf fields and it goes directly into the earth. you can use a simple volt meter to test it. turn on lots of equipment and put the negative cable to a ground and touch positive cable to you. depending on equipment and area around you emf voltage numbers will read from 7-12 volts of electricity going through your body. the second you ground the numbers go to .1 or less

dr stephen sinatra is another of the finders/studiers of this technology

I own one. I love it! The glow from the light under it is relaxing and makes the living room bounce with a reflecting hue. Within a few days of having mine a bunch of black specks started appearing on it. Different then dust. It actually kind of embeds itself into the rock. Not sure what stuff its attracting but its doing something! Either way they are great to look at!

We have one, don't know about the negative ion thing but it does have a strange power.
People see it and have this powerful desire to lick it, yeh, pretty strange.
Any body experience this?

Makes a great night light though.

We have one in my house. At first my mom had it sitting out in the open, but then she had to put it in her room because my kids are afraid of it. My 7 year old son said that the weird red glow was scaring him in the middle of the night. It was actually kind of funny.

Snake Oil.

As it has been proven many times, "Heating a salt lamp with a light bulb produces the same effect as heating a clump of table salt - nothing. While salt is certainly composed of positive ions (Cl-) and negative ions (Na+) arranged in a crystal lattice, turning on a light bulb cannot possibly dislodge the negative ions, since they are strongly attracted to the positive ions. Even if some ions become dislodged from the crystal, remember that salt contains equal ratio of positive and negative ions. The effect of any negative ions released will be neutralized by the positive ions.

Often, sellers will also claim that Himalayan salt is "natural" and different from table salt, which is "unnatural." However, Himalayan salt and table salt are both sodium chloride (NaCl) and are chemically identical. (The age of Himalayan salt also does not matter. 400-million-year-old NaCl is still just NaCl.)

And positive ions are not all bad. For instance, Na+, Ca2+, K+, etc. are essential for cellular function. "Positive ion" is just too broad a term to be applied in this manner."
