L2A2 Trilux Scope Question

OK, here is a tough one, at least it has had me stumped for years. I have a L2A2 Trilux scope mounted on a L1A1 7.62 NATO rifle yet to be completed. Next to the windage adjustment there is a lever that moves a 2 sided cammed pin. This cammed pin is connected to the front pin of the scope, the pin that rests on the rail and the same pin that adjusts elevation. Moving this lever to its two positions simply moves the front of the scope up and down but to the same exact position for each of the 2 cam positions. In other words, it does nothing. I am interested in hearing from anyone who is familiar with these scopes as they will be the only ones who know what the heck I am talking about! Anyone know what this stupid lever is for or what it is supposed to do, even in theory?

The lever is to set you from one preset to another.
Usually it is from 300 yards to 600 yards, 100 to 400, etc...
Look up trilux suit settings on google.

Wow. An answer to a question I posted 15 months ago! Thanks drahopa. I am not the greatest at Google searching.

There are accuracy issues with the L1A1 that I must address. I could not tell that the cam was for zero selection because a decent group is yet to be had. It's movement was imperceptable to the eye so I thought it had the same zero in both positions. I hate the giant stalagtite that they use in these scopes.
