Default Norinco T54 ???

Advertise Here

Hey guys,
I've checked out a few of the threads on here about similar pistols and you all seem to be fairly knowledgeable on this subject. I've got an interesting question for you. I"m not really sure what it is, it has a Norinco T54 Lower but the slide on top is not marked and it has the safety in the slide. Any help would be great, I'm thinkin bout buying it but I'd like to know what it is first.
I'm not really sure how to post pictures on here (new to the forum), but i can send you an email, or mabe a pm if you'd like.
Thanks for the help.

forgot to mention that the lower has five numbers and then "T54 9mm Para," not sure if the para matters.

There were several T54 versions imported, some with slide mounted safeties, some with frame mounted, some with slide markings, some not.

Unless you are really hot for it, I'd pass, the quality has varied from decent to garbage as many were parts kits assembled and sold without real inspection.

I hear that alot, but have seen few bad Toks of any make. Mine is a Yugo, way more than 20,000 rounds downrange. If the safety blocks the firing pin then it is a good slim carry piece. Have had many norincos if the safety on them had blocked the firing pin would still have them.

I bought a used norinco cheap a few 5 years ago. Think the mag that came with it was a 7.62x25 mag. When loaded with 9mm all the rounds came up out of the gun when trying to chamber the 1st round.

The receiver mounted safety had also been removed by the previous owner.

My solution to the above problem was to change it to a 7.62x25 gun by buying a new (surplus) 7.62x25 barrel, bushing, and a couple 7.62x25 mags from:

Parts dropped right in and made it a fun gun to own. Tokarevs never had safeties to begin with so left that alone altogether.
