I am about 25-20 lbs over what the govt says I should be, but my doctor cannot figure out why she can't find anything wrong with me. My cholesterol, triglycerides are right where they should be,my blood sugar is good, my blood pressure is 118/74. pulse rate of 68-72. I do have asthma but it only seems to bother me when my seasonal allergies act up, so if I keep them under control I am fine. The only other things I have wrong are thing that I done to myself over the years, sore knees and ankles, shoulder that acts up now and then, but those can be expected when you destroyed your body playing baseball for 20+years and then softball ever since. 5' 11" 245,

I feel you, my ortho, just told me to think about shoulder surgery in the next year, I guess my bones want to grow extra parts now that I am close to 50. Dang bone spurs.

I think those govt figures are ludicrous, Dexter McCluster running back for the Chiefs 5'7' 185 and cut like a Greek God, he should be a buck and quarter according to the govt. I think they do not account for the physical shape you are in.

I'm muscle with a layer of protection. I use to be in the very over weight, but last year lost a good 50 lbs. Looking to lose another 50 this spring.
The trick is absolutley no sugar, cut back on the fried and heavily proccessed stuff and drink water like a fish. I also did a lot of hiking and walking. Its always easier in better weather. The body naturally stops the need to store fats and welcomes activity in niceer weather. |

female 5'9 123lbs. tall skinny. Not much body fat to last if a had to starve from food deprivation. I eat 900-1200 calories a day average 1050. Can easily go a day without eating if had to. 2 days is uncomfortable when it gets to 3 I feel sick and distressed.
Mostly food self sufficient I eat fruit and veggies from my garden and I eat lean game like rabbit, turkey and venison. I also keep chickens for the eggs. I only go to the supermarket to buy diet soda, booze, milk, butter, cooking oil, and ice cream. I don't really like eating. If the shtf I could happily survive on my garden and small game. Although I would miss my diet pepsi, coffees, ice creams and booze. If the SHTF I hope I would be able barter something to get a cow or a goat so I could still have milk. To me survival is about being "lean" and learning to live more efficiently with less and my body is a reflection of that. My body is lean and efficient. |

Overweight, no hiding that (6'2", 270lbs) . I do work a labor job though and do a lot of yard work and hiking when not chasing the kids around. I've had a problem with my knee sense childhood and surgey hasn't been able to completely fix it back to normal, so my body is busted up a bit too. I have no issues hiking all day in knee deep snow though. =)

If the men at gunshows are what preppers look like then they are mostly middle aged and obese and some with questionable personal hygiene habits.
