Default EMP Proof Vehicle. Motorcycle??

Advertise Here

I have already asked questions about an EMP proof SUV. Realizeing that if I want an EMP proof SUV it would have to be very very old. I have been thinking about motorcycles, specifically a dirtbike that could be registered for the road or 4 wheeler.

Would this be an EMP proof vehicle???

Anything with any circuit board is hosed. You need to get an old vehicle with a carburetor that can run with no smog devices, and still pass emissions. You're looking at early 70's as the newest probably.

Actually there is modern veichles of military type that are protected ( and you can protect any modern veichle to a cost )

The simplest way is to build a storage thats protected ( faradays cage )

Older models certainly. I have a 1974 Honda Twinstar that never heard of a computer.

US.GOV figures maybe ten percent of all modern vehicles will go down for the count under likely levels of EMP, so plan accordingly.

Thats funny because the Army War College states that under certain EMP conditions (manmade), they were able to eliminate 80-90% of all modern cars. They were passing out DVDs with EMP information based on research at a conference on EMPs. Not every EMP will have this great an effect, but Im not counting on my car working in the event of an EMP. Im planning accordingly.

If that has gone down, the emissions testers won't work either. But my old points-and-plugs Chevy will....

anything with a circuit board is gone if its powered up. if its shut down at the time of the emp, im not sure it will be destroyed, unless the emp goes off close.

Points and plugs, man, points and plugs. Think WW2 Harley.

You could always park it in an emp proof room, enclosed in copper and then grounded.

Just build a large Faraday cage in your garage, imo.
