The most decorated war dog in WW1 was a PIT BULL by the name of SGT. Stubby. He met three presidents and could even salute! He single pawdley captured a German spy. He is the ONLY dog to be promoted to Sergeant through combat. This is positive Pit Bull press you will never hear. Pit Bulls are the BEST dogs you can have, if you dont agree then you have never owned one. Its a FACT that they have a better temperament than a Golden Retriever.

46 views and only 1 comment on this amazing dog. This is exactly my point. If this thread was about "2 Pit Bulls attacked my dog" everyone and their mom would have something to say. People feed off negativity, thats why the news feed off this. Chow bites a kid, 1 newspaper reports it, Pit Bull bites a kid, 460 newspapers, 12 t.v. stations and 8 radio stations nationwide report it, over and over again.

from what i know the pit bull was a working breed , cattle dogs in south America ?
if they are breed rite and trained rite then they are good dogs , the drug dealers and those that raised them to fight ruined the breed and gave them a bad rep.
i have had more problems with the little breeds and i think that has some to do with the stupid puppy mils

Love Pits and a good Bulldog.

The small things like chihuahuas tend to be vicious little wankers that'll rip a child's face to shreds while it's owner is holding it up to 'give the kid a kiss.'

Not too fond of my in-laws' swarm of ankle-biting mini-wieners and dust-mop mixes either.

I love a good bulldog. Bad owners are the ones who should be euthanized. Good owners who understand the breed and take the proper precautions against fights are what all pit bulls need. They are great for nearly any work that you desire them to do except for the fact that they don't have the best noses. Get a good opposite sex nose dog and you got a solid hunting pair. Stay away from those American bully also. If it grows up to be over 60 lbs it's prolly not a true bulldog.

Unfortunately, 53convert threatened to kill them on this forum! http://www.survivalistboards.com/showthread.php?t=105425&page=12

He is a fine example of pure ignorance! He has the mentality people had towards blacks in the 40's. Its a shame we have people that are really that stupid in this country, its pretty embarrassing! Hopefully, they will be weeded out when SHTF!!!!

We found backup with his ears cropped. He looked so mean, he was obviously abused. He came up to me and let me pet him. He is the happiest cutest dog. He is extremely friendly. I take him to the lake and groups of kids come over and play with him. He loves kids, this dog does not have a mean bone in his body. I have never seen him bark at anybody.

As a GSD owner let me just say - BAN THE DEED, NOT THE BREED!

Bad dogs are bad dogs, put them down, but no dog is bad because of it's pedigree.

GSD are sheepdogs FFS, but people think of them as attack dogs. Rottweilers are cart dogs, not concentration camp guards, the British Bulldog was used for bear baiting, but they're cute (if ugly) according to most. The only dog to endanger my life was a chihuahua, I nearly choked on the bugger!

As an aside, I'm really happy that ear cropping has gone out of fashion for PBT's (and Dobes and Danes) - it really ruins the look of a dog.

Oooh, now ya did it! Mentioning hounds brought back memories of my Red Bone hound, Cleopatra (she was so regal).
The wife and I have never been without at least one dog, had as many as seven at once, all roadside or pound rescues.
We live in a rural area and morons seem to bring their unwanted animals out to the country and dump them. We can't save them all, but at least there's a no-kill shelter in our county to take them to.
My wife has helped by transporting dogs betwen shelters in two counties to help their chances of adoption.
Our most recent addition is a Chocolate Lab that was barely weaned when some low life dumped him in front of our farm. He's four now, and he's a good boy! I believe dogs know when they've been rescued and are grateful for the second chance.

I am more of a German Shepard kind of guy but I have nothing against American Pit Bulls either.

Our city just passed a terrible ordinance which discriminates against Pit Bull owners. The Ordinance requires all Pit Bull owners (who did not register before the ordinance became effective) to have a minimum 6 foot high fence to keep their dogs in the yard.

This is just plain wrong.
