So for the school I work at, we had to take this personality assessment to show us our personality type and to help us learn to better relate to the students. I personally thought it was a crock of **** but the resulting description I was handed was pretty damn accurate.
I looked online for the same test and found a much shorter version of the test I took. The thing is called Myeres-Brigg (something something). After reading about the different personality types they have listed, I have a hunch that most of the people that frequent these boards fall under the xxTJ category. (you can take the quiz and see your results and see what I mean). My result was ENFP: E: 93% N: 87% F: 82% P: 76% Here is a link to the quiz, and I would be very interested in seeing your results if you don't mind taking it and posting what you get. |

Myers Briggs was created by two women one afternoon with virtually no data to support it. Essentially it means nothing. They were mother and daughter and they did not standardize it at all. So, if their idea of an extrovert is someone who travels to the mountain and you answer you like the beach you're an introvert in their eyes.
Oddly, that it is severely flawed is its one saving grace. It is equally flawed for everyone, so it is consistent in error which creates a standard. The "assessment" is mostly feel good, since there is no failure possible. |

Thank you for enlightening us Zorba.
As vague and flawed as it may be, it does present some truths about a persons general trends. I still bet that most people on this board would fall under the xxTJ category. |

For what it's worth (and IMHO not much) my score was:
I - 44% S - 25% T - 38% J - 89% However, I also strongly believe (perhaps confirming the "J - 89%"?? LOL) that Myers-Briggs, the Minnesota Multiphasic Personalilty Inventory, and other simple tests like these are fundamentally flawed and cannot possibly accurately capture and describe the sum of anyone's make-up or psychological complexity. Nor do I agree that they're "generally indicative" of the truth. |

Lol guys, I love how everyone has to put their score followed by a disclaimer. LMAO.
Just to make you guys feel safe, this is just for fun so take it with a grain of salt if you want, but I personally believe it gives general trends about a persona. I am still pretty damn sure that the majority of the board members fall under the xxTJ category (whatever those trends may show), but we will see. Have fun and this looks very interesting. |

INTP
It's funny because the other week i was going to post a thread like yours, as i thought it would be interesting. So far the majority has TJ and a couple with NP. This test is valid to a certain extent. It’s your personality by default, so it's not who you are as an individual, but rather the "behind the scenes", the basic workings/operating, what makes you tick and function: how you see and interact with the world, some may think before they speak, while others speak before thinking things through, some may when approaching the their external world, trust their intuition, whiles others sense - meaning a large part of decision making is made from external factors, what they externally see around them to reach that decision. So before disregarding the test as a load of $hit, i find it's best to look a bit deeper into the subject matter before i decide, but that’s just me and for people who don't agree with the test from the word go, well that’s their prerogative. But back to the original questioning of the thread, I personally think people who have any or a combination of T N P, maybe even J in their test, I think would be more common among survivalist and people on these sort of forums. |
