Saturday morning my son and I got up, and took the boat to the Angelina River - which is just west of Jasper, Texas.
At first we were using worms and top water baits, but after not catching hardly anything, we switched to pumpkin seed artificial worms in a Texas rig. This allowed us to get up into the weeds without getting hung up. I caught 3 bass, but 2 of them got off the hook right as they were about to get into the boat. As for the gators, they were out right and left. One little gator was only about 2 - 3 feet long. I saw a grass snake that was probably the biggest grass snake I have ever seen, this thing looked like it was almost 3 feet long. gator-7-25-2010-1.jpggator-7-25-2010-2.jpgperch-7-25-2010.jpg
