Default Alice Pack lc-1 and lc-2 differences?

Advertise Here

Hello and I have a question I can seem to find an answer to. When I was looking at Alice packs they all said either Lc-1 or Lc-2 for the pack it self or the frame or straps. What is Lc-1 and Lc-2? Is this like a specific version of the indicated part or does it mean something else?

A google search took me here:

http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums...-LC-1-and-LC-2

This page also has a lot of information on ALICE, but does not seem to get into the detailed differences between LC1 and LC2:

Arrow ALICE Packs

Large ALICE Pack
  • it's way bigger
  • has more pockets
  • requires a frame
Medium ALICE Pack
  • just a few pockets
  • optional frame
The new MOLLE is almost the same but instead of metal clips & stuff it's all plastic. MOLLE also went crazy with all the attachment straps eliminating all the pockets; not you have to get individual pockets and attach them. I don't really like MOLLE except that they did away with the ALICE clips. MOLLE does have bigger shoulder straps and hip pads which is nice. But you can only carry so much.

Unfortunately it's getting hard to find ALICE gear, at least something in like new condition.

General ALICE reference:

Stuff used in Vietnam:

Sadly most Internet searches anymore only list stuff somebody wants you to buy. It's getting hard to find good old plain information anymore.

Just to clarify, LC-2 does not denote larger or smaller, it's simply an updated slightly more modern version of LC-1. I don't know what all the specific differences are, though.

this may help.
The lc2 belt can be hard on fingernails as in losing them. So the changes are minor but relate to more than just the Alice pack but also the suspenders and belt separate from the Alice pack. It's all an Alice system.

Google. lc2*Alice*pack*instructions

that will take you to Georgia outfitters which has details of each lc1 and lc2 systems. When you select Georgia Outfitters, scroll down the page. The complete descriptions are there.
