A Victory for All God believing Americans.
The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld two religious freedom cases in San Francisco. The court ruled on Thursday that the phrases "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance and "In God We Trust" on coins and currency are both constitutional. The legal challenges had been brought by professed atheist Michael Newdow, who had claimed the references to God disrespect his atheist beliefs… An attorney with the Pacific Justice Institute (PJI) summarizes the court's ruling. "The court saw that both the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Motto -- "In God We Trust" -- do not violate the Establishment Clause, but rather they acknowledge the initial premises of our founding, which is that God gives each citizen inalienable rights," explains Kevin Snyder. The rights of atheists and agnostics are included in those inalienable rights, Snyder notes, but not at the expense of people of faith. The court stressed that there is no violation of the so-called "separation of church and state," and Snyder reports that cases such as this continue to crop up periodically because "a segment of our society, particularly in law schools...wants to remove all semblances of religion from public life." I don't care for Labels. Labels are made by someone from the opposing party.
I was raised in the church, to believe that MAN was good. Man is not good. Men are Evil. Thus, my decision not to preach the Gospel. I was brainwashed into believing men have good intentions. No, they do not. Men are out to control what you believe in. Control is everything, once you have control; you have all resources available. Then you can control all men. Men are stupid, and they will control you. You are stupid to put your trust in men. Shortly, you will find; everyone you consider a hero, is nothing. Nature/God gave you a Brain. Use it. Get over the Hero worship. Don't forget, Nature gave you the brain. If you give it away by Hero worship, you have sinned. |

The religion clause in the First amendment only applies to Congress...At least that is what the actual words in the Amendment say....The Courts can't read on that one.....BTW no where does it say anything about separation of church and state!

What a waste of time, effort and money. How many pounds of food could have been donated to a food shelf? For the amount of money wasted on this lawsuit. |

The same guy Mchael Newdow tried it back in 2004. He sued the Elk Grove School District (15 miles south of Sacramento, CA) because the school said it. His daughter went there. The US Supreme Court tossed him out on his ear.
He's going to try it again, hopefully he'll get the same reception. "The definition of insanty is trying the same thing, expecting a different result" |
