Is anyone using two liter soda bottles for storing dry goods such as rice, beans, wheat etc? They must be food grade and the plastic seems quite sturdy. How would you clean them and seal them after filling?
Seems like a good use for empty bottles.
My wife and I just reorganized our food storage. We had rice and beans stored in 2 liter soda bottles since 2012, without O2 absorbers. We open the rice and beans and started using it, everything tasted fine and we didn’t die. We kept it stored in a cool dark room in our basement.
