What's the story on Motorcycle Helmet laws? Moving some time in the future to Polk County and ride but don't know if I need a lid. Can y'all help?

No lid needed if you are over 21 and lots of good riding. Welcome to heaven

Polk County has tons of backroads and is close to Scenic 7 byway, one of the best rides in AR. Watch for deer and critters though!!! Also check out Bikes, Blues, and BBQ in NW AR this fall.

My house there is right near the Talimena Scenic Parkway, don't get much better than that....

How can anyone look like Big Daddy by wearing a helmet?

You mean Big Daddy in a Coffin? Wear your helmet... the life you save may be your own.

Its nice you have a choice ---- to bad you're to dumb to know - its stupid not to wear one --

I was joking. I always wear a helmet and can't believe the fools that ride without one.

I hit a '70 model Chevy p/u head-on. Buried my face 6 inches deep in the hood. Broke both arms, both legs, my neck, and nose. Quit riding.

But Big Daddy who doesn't wear a helmet would say that he might get his neck snapped by wearing one.

I hit a deer at 60 mph and no helmet. Totaled the bike and the deer and almost totaled me. It cost $6600 for the LifeFlight from the scene and another #180,000 for four days of ICU and subsequent hospital test. Concussion and serious road rash on the back of my head, split sternum and bilateral flailed chest (the sternum and attaching ribs were separated probably from the deer hitting me over the handlebars.

Some people not wearing a helmet are lucky and live (like me) and others get a chance to be an organ donor.
