Default Kentucky Creates Another Survivalist!

Hello, everyone! I'm new to the boards here and just wanted to introduce myself. Being from KY, the outdoorsman/survivalist mentality is pretty steeped in the culture and people. Looking forward to learning a lot, and participating in some lively conversations, and maybe be able to help out a person or two! See you in the forums!

Families in states like Kentucky and Tennessee and all points West are only a couple of generations removed from a frontier life style. My own grandparents were share croppers and often supplemented meals with rabbit, squirrel, fowl or fish. But they always had farm animals and crops. The same single shot break open 12ga. that used to harvest game for my grandparents table, now belongs to my oldest son. It is never shot, but it is a prized possession. It is family history. The survivalist mind set is also handed down to succeeding generations. It is wisdom passed on from our elders. Welcome to the Survivalist boards.

Sometimes the old ways are still good. What do u do when your power goes out or the tap water stops running. A good generator can supply electric just have a supply of gas ready. Tap water can be a problem I have a spring not far from the house but most don't have that. So store your water.Wood heat stoves will keep u warm in winter. Kerosene heater are good to have again have a supply of fuel in storeage. I learned from my grandparents and can never thank them enough for sharing their wisdom with me. There is much more but am keeping this post short.
