I just wanted to check and see if anyone is in that area. My parents moved there last year and thought I would see if anyone is fairly close.

Property in that area is pretty reasonable but then again I am sadly used to values here in Vegas with an acre of land being nearly a million and that is for out in the boonies.

Compared to my area (Mid TN), undeveloped property value in the Mountain Home area is slightly better.

I purchased 5 acres in southern Colorado for $4 grand. Lots more available. Built a ICF off grid home here. Views of 14 thousand foot peaks in front yard and 100 miles to south and west. The home sits at 8000 feet above sea level. 3rd largest potato growing region in the US. Here is a pic of the home This is a place that is off the main track and very quiet and out of view. It amazes me that no one knows or cares about it.

Pic isn't working on my app. Is it there via the web?

I know about and have looked for land in that area too. I'm just not interested in wide open plains. I'm looking for on the mountain wooded property. And I required it have a spring or spring-fed creek.

There are a ton of properties for sale in Northern Arkansas at reasonable prices. Retirees are dying off and need to sell. We have four properties for sale on my street. Elderly people want to get out from under the upkeep and are moving into retirement homes. We have a tight little neighborhood on the White River. We look out for one another. Moving into remote areas makes you vulnerable to burglaries when you leave. Consider that.

I am from this area, as well. Depending on the location of property you're looking at, land has a big range of cost. If you're just looking for a wooded area, you can sometimes find it for around 5k-10k per acre (not near river or lake). If you're wanting something closer to the rivers or lakes, you can expect to pay anywhere from 20k to over 100k per acre.
