Now to see how many of the people in the state prepared for the floods. Evacuations are taking place as streams rise. Some dams are at capacity and more rain is on the way. The stream in my pasture is usually a foot or two across in the winter and 6" deep. Right now it is 5-8' across and two feet deep in places. It is a good 25' below me in elevation so not a problem. The neighbor's pond maxed out Saturday. It will be interesting to see how the people here react. Disaster preparation is not big for a lot of people here. I remember 1 of 3 people in Tulare county were receiving public assistance, when I lived there. These people will have there hands out asking for more now.

Looks like it is shaping up to be a major event.

If things line up and these storms start training in off the ocean, you guys could have your hands full.

Throw a nice earthquake in there on top of the flooding, and you have the makings for a disaster movie.

Stay safe!

Also considerable flooding in NW Nevada.

Spent yesterday loading, toting & placing sandbags & a local church & at another area.
(nothing of mine was threatened, just helping others out)

But, at my age 70, it's okay to be slightly past your heavy grunt work prime.

Northern CA is out of the drought. The southern part of the State still has some problems. Nevada is mostly out of the drought.

Global warming and Karma is a bitch. Just kidding of course. As much as I do not like the liberal cretins in CA, I certainly wish them no harm. I hope the flooding is minimal and the nice weather returns soon. We have enough problems in this country without getting pummeled by mother nature. She has done enough damage lately.

What is a fake scientist?
Pretty easy to keep a record of how much rain you average, how much a resevoir holds, how much is released, how deep the auqafier is,,how much cfm's a river is flowing, how much water is used, what the population is,total acreage of farmland....its just math.
Do we have less water available than last year.
Do we have more than last year.
Will we have enough for the rest of the year.

For 10 years the (smart) people have been saying we need to invest in more reservoirs and means to collect the water when it comes but Jerry Brown and Liberals have been to busy wasting money on illegals. Since everything is cyclical we'll be in a drought again in 10 years and nothing will have been done.

Send 5 million "new" residents home and will be plenty of water (and freeways).

I just read that the bypass gates have been opened on the Sacramento river to divert water thus preventing the flooding of Sacramento. The city could use a good flushing. Flooding seems to be happening along with mud and rock slides. Remember Governor Brown thumbing his nose at Trump and refusing to cooperate with deporting illegals, possibly asking Eric Holder to assist the state with actions from Washington? You think he will change his mind and ask for federal aide? If I were Trump, I would not offer aid until Brown has apologized and given state assistance in deportations and restoring our second amendment rights. Time to make Brown start acting like a human being.

Never will understand the drought/flood mentality. People will scream about how the government can and should do something about the drought, then scream about rain damage and want government assistance for the damage.

I say, seed the clouds now that there's moisture in the air and let it pour.
