It was ok. I see they did the 28 days beginning. The partner with the guys wife is a little heavy on the soap opera drama side for me but all in all it wasn't bad.
Not bad.
But not as good as "Dawn of The Dead" (the 2004 flavour), that they showed immediately before TWD, although DOTD suffered somewhat in having some cuts for TV viewing.
I have that movie, but I liked the seventies one better. The recent one seemed to try to be more dramatic than it needed to be (in my head, at least) but it was good.
I live in Georgia where the series takes place, and I am just trying to figure out where in the state of Georgia will you find a cop carrying a 6" S&W 686 (actually I think it is a Taurus) cause a lot of departments in Georgia carry a G22. GSP carries a GAP I think, but most locals carry G22's. Other than that.....love the show. I think it is filmed in Georgia too.
Yeah, it is filmed there. A friend of mine who lives in Atlanta said they've shot some scenes right down the street from the apartment of a friend of his. They had some stuff going on for people to be a zombie extra during a few scenes.
I hate it, only because I can't watch past episode one...no AMC here. If the bastards would put episodes up on Hulu, Crackle, or the AMC website a week after air or something, I might change my mind.
Ya'all owe me a beer for the following. You can watch all episodes of The Walking Dead (along with most other cable TV series) at the following link. Nothing to download other than a DivEx (decoder) and it's completely safe. I've been catching up on this series and Boardwalk Empire. Totally sweet!
This show is based on a Comic series. Which had begun before 28 days/weeks had been made.
So 28 days later is actually a copy of this.
The comic series is actually still ongoing story. (And is amazing)
Man do I LOVE a good Zombie show! Walking Dead is a great show, one of the best on T.V.
One VERY small point that irritated me- When Shane was cleaning his shotgun while talking about gigging frogs, did anybody else notice that he licked the wire brush he was using? Seriously, why didn't an editor catch that? Stupid.
...of a Zombie outbreak is as about as probable as me running through the streets naked and covered with green jello with a block of ice tied to my head for the cost of a brand new nickel. But me and the wife LOVE the show, and cant wait for Season 2 on Oct 16th.
I love it. I think it is great because on its own it might be a pretty solid drama, but when you add survival and flesh eating hell beasts it is wonderful.
I have watched every episode and am waiting for tonight for the season premier, but I have noticed some things about the show. In season one:
Why doesn't everybody have an M4 or a squad assault weapon. There are dead soldiers everywhere but nobody has picked up one? Why didn't they strip
Out of everyone in the group, nobody was a prepper? The group has to forage for food because nobody has any preps?
With all the Humvees around, nobody grabbed one? A 50 cal mounted on top and NOBODY grabbed one. They have a jeep (not real smart in a zombie apocalypse especially with a bikini top), an old pickup, a motorcycle and a motor home. That is a tough one, I just find it hard to believe no one would grab a Military Hummer as a SHTF ride.
I still love the show, but I wish the cast was more resourceful in their choices during the worst apocalypse ever to hit mankind. : )
Realistically, the preppers probably hunkered down already. Also remember, preppers are actually only less than 1% of the population statistically... so statistically speaking, non-preppers are more likely to outnumber preppers in a scenario like this. Prepping doesn't ensure suruvival, just raised the percentage up a few notches. And who is going to want to watch a show of a survivor squirreled away in his bunker? :
Do you know how much gas is needed for a Humvee??? LOL My friends Hummer gets 9 miles a gallon. I assume the military version would get less.
50 cals were probably shot dry also. If you notice the scene from the CDC, you will see that they were bunkered down with a perimeter. Once the ammo was out, there was no way to fend off the zombies.
After what happened to rush limbaugh and hank williams jr. I have found other things to spend time on other than the NFL. Those racist pigs who run the nfl and its media outlets will give creedence to any lie or character assasination in order to protect market share. Im no longer participating in their evil.
Cardinals fan since mel gray and jim hart.
I have the first season on Blu Ray!!!! The Blues play The Ducks 7 pm central, I will catch it after the game! Between Boardwalk Empire, Walking Dead, Homeland, and the Blues game I will be busy for a few days trying to watch the new episodes lol. Good TV this fall!
