Well, I simply googled survival groups and this site came on. I'm looking for like minded people who are, "awake," I believe that it is better to think of survival in a community rather then the Omega Man- Lone wolf approach. We are living in challenging times and we need to help each other get through what is coming. I live in Orange County in Southern California, I love my State but hate the politics here......

Searching for a woodsrunning forum to join to replace another I'm on. Their website is infuriatingly nonfunctional for me so often that I just couldn't stand trying to make it work anymore! Not really a lot out there, then I found you!

I found you all on a web search for something awhile back and found the information interesting, and helpful. I must have signed up to get email posts from here because I got an email today started reading down the post list when I felt like I would like to be a part of this group. I don't spend a lot of time in forums, this is the first I've joined. I have to figure out how to navigate in here.

My mother was telling me about how she and my father went shooting water moccasins while visiting Louisiana back in the '50's and how they saved them for some of the locals, who liked to eat them. I wanted to know if they were really edible and went looking for a recipe. That's how I came across a discussion here.

Working nights was looking for anything interesting on the net to read. Found the thread "Creepy stories from the outdoors". Those stories kept me awake and intrigued for many long nights. Good stuff.

I was actually looking for a specific manual. As it turns out, you have to post 5 times before you can actually download anything. A bit of an inconvenience, however I completely understand.
