I'm am preparing for the worst and have decided to have at least 10,000 gals of water in researve to hold me and mine thorugh the long haul, question is what is the best way to preserve and keep clean 10,000 gal when you have no electricity?

Also anyone know of some good purity testers for water. Basically if I am in the woods and don't have anything to purify the water with, is there a way to test the water for impruities.

Are you going to be storing it all in one tank (swimming pool?) or in multiple 55 gallon drums? Either way you would want to add chlorine bleach to your water at a ratio of 1/2 teaspoon per 5 gallons. This will keep your water clean and you dont need electricity to do it. You can also get purogene tablets to use instead of bleach or for future use.
As for the water purity tester maybe some one on here has a reccomendation for you.

Swimming pool???

I think you are going about this the wrong way. Store water and clean what you need when you need it.

Get yourself an Aquarain or Big Berkey water filter with spare filter cartridges.

Also consider getting several gallons of bleach and an eye dropper.
You want 5-6% sodium hypochlorite with no other active ingredients or soaps.
Replace bleach every 6 months.
8 drops per gallon of clear water and 16 drop per gallon if water is cloudy.

for more info.

Consider ways to transport water as well as collect it, ie rain barrels, plastic sheeting etc.

Storing ten thousand gallons of clean water.

I would hope that I could find an artesian well if I needed ten thousand gallons of clean water at my disposal.

If you have high ground above your location, there is always a chance there might be a spring or artesian well above or below you.
