Also note that it was from 1991 and the state of medical research has gone through several more cycles of navel gazing, which is what the article is about. In other words the articles author is insisting that deeper scientific research on some treatments be evaluated if adequate science is behind the usage.

I hope you have something a little better than that. It also might help if you learn to read scholarly articles. Or you will be in the position where a respected person says he can not disprove Bigfoot existence so you immediately run out and say, "such and such highly respected person confirms Bigfoot exists!"

Seems I remember that technique used to prove UFO's more than once.

soooo....just so I get it straight..your rebuttal is that in the last 20 years medical research has changed so much as to render the authors stance as invalid and the whole article is about the sweeping changes in medical research in the last 20 years......lol...I must of missed that

rem you asked me to prove that there are examples of medical situations/procedure/meds that are not subjected to RCTs....my article proved thatstating specific examples of the lack thereof

btw .....can you give me the source for the "several cycles of naval gazing" that has improved current medical research in the last 20 years....esp in the light of the many cases of research fraud and fines levied against drug cos for research shenanigans in the last 20 years

and I would hope the author insists on "deeper research"......thats **** poor "science"

That was not my rebuttal. But I am not surprised you did not understand. Seems that your reading comprehension is poor. As evidenced by your misreading of the article you posted.

As to the jeer. That is the final response of those that are closed minded, Insult those of opposing view. You simply do not want to give up your hatred of modern medicine for some odd reason that is difficult to understand. Perhaps that is because you profit in some manner from promulgating nonsense.

I don't get the talk that this season's shot is crap. This season's flu jab is the best in years when it comes to predicting and matching the actual viruses! Last season's was pretty poor.

The increase in flus we see this season is that we have several strains going on at once (usually among the unvaxxed), plus we have several rhino/corona viruses that are worse than normal that can lead to bronchitis that are mistaken for the flu, and also around here we have an epidemic of RSV that sometimes also is mistaken for the flu.

I'll be glad at the end of the flu season to give you the efficacy statistics, which will be good UNLESS there is a big mutation soon in one of the current flus.

I refuse to get the flu shot and ill tell you why.

I worked at a rehab hospital for those who have been paralyzed or had brain injuries. One day while I was cleaning a room I saw this poor girl getting wheeled down the hallway. My girl was her nurse so I asked what was wrong. Come to find out she got a FLU SHOT and it gave her a disease called gillean bera (I know I spelled that wrong) which left her 100% paralyzed.

Screw the flu shot ill get sick and die before I become trapped in my own body bc of govt drugs.

I have insulted the alternative medical field just like you have done repeatedly towards the established side. I however did not insult you personally. I asked if you profit from the alternative side since you are strident in your attacks on main stream medicine.

But I think the point has been made. If you want to have some protection from the flu (no 100% guarantees), get the flu shot. If you want to believe in magic, consult your local Witch doctor.

How does attacking medical BS equate to profiting from ALT med???
Most of modern med is amazing and wonderful esp in the emergency care realm
it tends to fall when it comes to the tx of chronic dx
and yes.. not all medicine is backed by solid science...vaccines being one of those

it might surprise you that actually i am more likely to poo poo various Alt med ministrations as well as medicine....can not modern medicine stand up to a criticism of a few of its procedures or traditions

you must be a young doc..the older ones at least know not every thing medicine does is a gift from god

My sister would disagree with that! She's getting slammed in her geriatric practice It's running rampant in nursing homes and all her patients got the flu vaccine. She got the flu as well and was vaccinated. Thankfully, Tamiflu stopped hers quickly.
