Windows Vista questions

I bought a used laptop (ACER) from a friend and it has windows vista on it. I know very little about computers. My questions are:

Where is there a good tutorial on vista?

How do I delete/erase the 50 gig of stuff on my laptop, after looking at it?

How do I make the computer run faster?

How complete is the clear history option? Does it still leave a record in the computer somewhere or is it completly gone?

Thanks for the help.

Well, I ran vista on my laptop for a few years and it totally sucks, but since I have a lot of experience with it Ill tell you everything I did to make mine faster before I put Ubuntu on my laptop.

1: Disable all visual effects:

2: Disable super fetching:

3: Defrag your hard drive once a month (it should be done on all computers):

4: Use a registry cleaner once a month:

(I use ccleaner, its easy to use and best of all its free)

5:Update windows once a week.

That's about it. Also look into getting more RAM (Random Access Memory) if you're not already maxed out. Just google add more ram to computer and start there. There are hundreds of guides out there.

Hope that helped.
