Do yourself a favor and research LS engine swap.
The Chevy LS gets great fuel economy, makes tons of power, and is cheap to fix.
If you buy a 1999 and up Silverado for cheap, wrecked or rotted, you can drop the engine and trans in there in one shot.
The wiring is pretty easy to work out, and if you get a donor vehicle you get the computer and harness too.
It's fairly easy to wire up.
That will give you an easy 300hp minimum, and the stock bottom end has supported almost 1,000 hp

Earlier in this thread I bought a LS 5.3 and in the process of getting the swap parts. I was going to go with the Olds 350 as it would be a direct swap but a LS is cheaper and makes more power. I believe Ill be able to finish this car right at 5k and have a really nice street/ show car

Default good one

SV,

We had 1984 brand new, with the 307. By the way that is an Olds engine, after that they went to whatever they could stick in. Ran the car 180k, never had much trouble. Like the boys said. The trainy was made for 4's and 6's so it died around 100k. Put in a turbo 350 and lived happily ever after. So yours will last you awhile.

good luck

Dan
