Understand from a point of view of puncture prone area, and a quick means of getting out of dodge..

Slicks become a pointless option given the little tread they actually have, and the tires you would have to waste to thorn and glass proof them..

It is cheaper to use off-road tires..

If you are more than 90 min by road or rail where average speeds are about 70-100 km/h..

Your average walking pace is less than 5km and push bike 15-25kph or less as such it will take you longer to get home.

A 90 min travel distance will 4 hours to 48 hours pending on the mode of transport you use..

On a pushbike I would consider having it motorised to save travel time.

I was looking at long distance in my comment.

As for lights something that gives you a solid spot Beam at distance.

May be a row of lights to indicate your length

When you murder a bicyclist may your post come back to haunt you.
