Yes. It won't be any fun. Especially if it causes our power to go out for any length of time. Lots of people including your family, children and relatives may or may not survive. Your meaning everyone's.

Vote passed last night.

...aaand in other news, Scotland is planning to leave UK to stay in EU...

https://news.vice.com/story/scotland...because-brexit

Hate to derail the thread here, have been following it since day one as it's something we believe is in our future (..at some point...)

Mrs Kranky-Fish can go suck on something.

They need permission to vote in another referendum and May has said No (thankfully)... We knew the vote for Brexit was coming during the last referendum, that's no excuse to want another, just because they didn't like the outcome.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Independance, as long is it's done right and for the right reasons.

If we had more exports than imports, sure. If we could feed ourselves, power ourselves, defend ourselves, then sure.

If it was the Independance William Wallace envisioned, where he fought against a large centralised government interfering in his daily life, then sure.

Seriously, if Scotland really wanted to leave the UK, just give the rest of the UK a vote to get rid of us...I think they'd do it, and be happy about it.

As it stands, however, I do not want to be controlled by a Socialist, nanny state government that spies and dictates my every move. Hopefully we can move elsewhere before this whole thing goes mammary up!

..Sorry, had to get that off my chest, please carry on with the thread

I guess the best way to not end up being wanting to be gotten rid of is to remember to not squirt out so many babies and demand that your government should support you.

I think that is what they are doing to dump off so many high dollar entitlement people.

It looks better on the books.

Plus, those will not be around to protest.

BOOM BOOM, out go the lights.

I certainly don't want to see the back of you lot up there.

That rubbish having to go through Parliament to implement a decision by the people was about as undemocratic as it comes. Parliament is supposed to take its directions from the people, not the other way around.

I'd love to see those self-serving pompous bastards in the High Court shipped off to live in some extremely remote corner of the EU. Down there in Bulgaria just across from Turkey might be appropriate, and whilst packing they should make room for a fair few of their colleagues and at least half of the Commons.

Not exactly.

The article says Israeli jets were bombing a Syrian weapons depot and Syria fired a couple SAMs at the jets during the engagement (and missed).

The first sentences.

"Israel threatens to 'destroy' Syrian air defence systems.
Israel has denied a claim by Syria that it shot down an Israeli plane carrying out pre-dawn raids on a military target near Palmyra

Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Sunday threatened to destroy Syrian air defence systems after they fired ground-to-air missiles at Israeli warplanes carrying out strikes."

SYRIA did shoot at the aircraft.

They must have some outdated SAMS to miss with two shots?

Syria claims they downed a plane and Israel denies it.

Hard to be certain which is the case although I would tend to believe Israel.

I thought the Russians placed their super new SAM system into Syria. Wonder which system was fired at the jets?

That is old news, from over a week ago. (A week in politics is a long time.)

Article 50 will be announced 30 March. That is the mechanism by which a member state in the EU gives official notice to quit. About time too!

Scotland's FM can pontificate all she likes, but Mrs. May has denied her the right to any action until Brexit is complete, in two years' time. Moreover, Scottish opinion seems now to be against EU membership.

Never underestimate the degree to which inept operation can ruin the performance of any given system or device....

Picked up on some news that SYRIA used S-200 missiles to fire at ISRAELI planes. Those planes can outrun the S-200.

S-400 solid fuel missiles are very powerful. Nothing with a man in it could outrun one of those.

From the wiki article I posted above, the S-400 uses 3 different missiles for targets at different ranges. Not sure if that comment applies to all of the missiles or not.

When SYRIA takes the next shot at ISAREL, they will take out all of that air defense hardware over the Golan Hights border which is about where DAMASCUS sits. And, the easiest way would be to use a Neutron NUKE.

This could turn any time soon.
