Closest cell reception is a 10 mile drive or a 1000 ft climb.

No trap door. But we framed one in in case it ever becomes applicable.

We've got several of these towers, but I don't personally concider them a good idea as a hardened cover position as many are implying. We could throw up a sandbag wall at some point, but you're just too exposed and captive in these towers for my taste. Perfect for slaying deer though.

Soooo youre right in the middle of town? And you havent checked with the building department to see if youre legal yet? Like someone else said, how old are you? Cuz it seems like youre not old enough to realize even the basics of your project. If you are, why are you still living with your parents?

Nope....Not hardly....just a general comment for the OP.
Some nice looking "tree houses" posted.

We need a permit for an approved fence or deck....
Right or wrong doesn't matter....or what everyone's ideas are....For us in out location........Need the permit.

The OP need to consider if legal... or face having it torn down and fined.

I built mine from a Port-a-potty on a 12 foot tower.....on the rise overlooking the bottom field on the river bottom.....No codes there.

Pretty cool! I'd of never thought of that. Beats the heck out of sitting in a chair out in the wind- room enough for a single burner coffee cooker/heater. Did you line the inside with something like fabric or carpet? Some spray adhesive and cheap felt would make it pretty warm and quite - I'd bet. I may have to steal your idea for the next one.

After several hunting trips to Louisiana saw and used a few of theses "box blinds"....first one I saw said "Property of Baton Rouge Sanitary District"
Decided I need one as well.

Our "Place" is close to the upper Mississippi River....
Flooded out several camp-grounds and parks....and destroyed a few small Porta-a-potty companies.

Many people do buy them and put them on their hunting, vacation and BOL properties.
Called them and was able to pick thru bunch of old ones....all clean and ain various conditions....and close enough to the edge to load up....got this one for $60 bucks.

Tank was cleaned out...and the whole thing had been power washed.

So it was;....
Sawzall everything you don't need or want from the inside, replace floor,.... cut windows, install plastic windows.....and shelves.

Build your tower thsi was 12' tall....lumber about $150 bucks...attach the porta-a-potty at the install location and stand up.

No insulation, but did have carpet....to keep the office swivel chair rollers quite.......but mice would chew it up and make nests.

Office chair and one of those little Coleman propane stove....toasty all day.

If I build another I would look for the Handicap size....little more room.

From the river bank

Sunrise thru window....
