I agree. If I was put into that position, everything I said would start with "As an officer of the law...". However, we all know that there will be officers that will enforce the law by any means necessary regardless of the morality or whether it is unconstitutional (they are such good soldiers). I see things like this happening in cities with larger populations (100,000K or more) and randomly in the smaller towns. I think in the smaller towns, the local police may try to enforce, but the county officers won't. At least that my perception (and some officers) from the ones that I know and have talked to.

Good people will follow their conscious as much as they can.
Bad people will do whatever they feel will move themselves forward.

This goes for LEO's, military and anyone that feels 'entitled' to your stuff. The bad always seem to get the spotlight, and too few LEO's (I believe the majority are good, but it is a VERY rough job) get the respect/credit that they deserve. LEO's are people; no more, no more less. Accept that and you will recognize that they are fallible just like everyone else, but also that they have morals and consciences as well.

This's is a sophomoric way to prove nothing. The idea that any officer will answer such a catch 22 question is stupid. No officer is going to admit in a hypothetical question that he would disobey a lawful order from his chain of command_on a video no less.

The person doing the video said he represented a media outlet. Yet it was unprofessionally done. The officers were far more professional. The interviewer could not even stick to his subject "gun control." Gun control and the constitution are very objective in relationship and questioning. ObamaCare and it's relationship are much more subjective in nature given the application of the 10th amendment.

If the interviewer knew what he was doing, he would know every employer of any size has a "no sollicitation_distrobution policy" of some sort. Therefore he would not have ask the officers to distribute his literature. He would have found out the proper channel to follow and done so professionally.

I would advise the kid doing the video not to quit his day job. But, my guess is he doesn't have one.

I want to believe the camera played a part in these officers answers, but if it didn't then people better understand what these guys are saying. Before,during and after great atrocities accrue, the sentiment is always the same "I'm just following orders!"

I'll team up with those I trust, be it LEO, Military, or Joe down the street. Trust is what matters, not what they did before SHTF.

I was under the impression that these LEO's do not have a clue what is going on. This country is filled with people who do not know or care what the Constitution says or what it was designed to do.

IMO, the best campaign we have is to have town meeting to discuss these possible infringements so that when they come, the people and LEO will have basic knowledge of what is happening and a clearer thoughtout decision of how they will react to them.

At least this guy is cordial. I am not a fan of putting the cops on the spot. In this case it is a "what if" about a law that doesn't even exist. Every dept. I have worked for doesn't allow talking about politics in uniform, and I'll bet their dept is the same. This means they can't just give an opinion and nobody in uniform is going to say to a stranger with a camera that they will not enforce the law. Sure the electied poltiicans may say that, but not the street cops. 1st dude was the best by far.

One small detail that seems to be overlooked - how so they know who has guns? The NICS forms, are, by specific law, not to be used for gun registration purposes.
