I never doubted the power of the gun or bullet. How far was your shot? Did the doe go far or drop right there?

the sks is a fine rifle if your familar with it and the coarse sites. yu obviously are.they are capable of much more accuracy than most people think.in my yunger days i could easily hit a brick at 125 yrds with mine.

Congratulations on putting fresh meat in your freezer!
I shot a black bear with mine once. Single shot with a 125 grain soft point from 20 yards. After the shot he made a run for it and I worried that the round didn't pack enough wallop. I gave it a few minutes before starting my track, the bear died in his tracks. He didn't make it more than 10 yards into the bushes. |

I used hornady steel cased hunting ammo with the plastic tip. I guess you could call it hp.
The entry wounds were the size of a pencil and the exit wounds the size of a quarter. |
