The noodles are low calorie but provide a warm soup when combined with steamed canteen water. Buy yourself a big bag of Snickers and munch on them as you hike the trail. It is the perfect hiking food. Literally.

But since you are only hiking 4miles, you could probably pack a whole turkey if you wanted to. 4 miles sounds like a stroll in the park. Either way, hope you have a great thanksgiving.
Canned soup. Never again.

Congrats for getting out there.

I had car/truck/boat camped for years before I tried back-packing.

Then I STILL tried to pack in 80lbs of gear! After a few trips you learn what is really important and how to pare down weight to a managable level.

Hope you had a good trip. If you need any gear advice etc. I would be happy to help.

Backpacking often is. When you are out there you are relying on your equipment to do it's job. It's expensive, and I myself have had to compromise on money to get good equipment. Took me 2 years to save money here and there to get EXACTLY what I wanted.
