Not sure if this will help you but I had a similar experience with no pain but numbness. I was laying on the floor and my finger got cut even though there was nothing sharp around. Anyways I don't know how to explains this but I drew something out of me and fought back, after that the feeling returned. And honestly before that I was a skeptic on such things.

If you believe in that sort of thing, spirits have been reported to produce physical injuries to the living. Perhaps they are upset that you have come into the house. I don't purport to have any knowledge, but if it all started when you moved in then moving out would seem a logical choice.

Burn sage and walk throughout the entire house with it. Don't miss any corners! Make sure you say, "In the name of Jesus" leave this house or leave me alone or whatever.

It can happen. And if its just family calling her, don't be afraid. Perhaps if she talks to them she'll feel better or they'll stop. And its not crazy, people talk to God every day. But the bruise thing? yeah, sounds evil. If you're a Christian, call on God's name for protection.

Pack your stuff and get out of there. Better to sleep in the car than in Amityville...

Never heard that one before.

My wife is Greek, and there's a lot I still don't understand about their traditions, but she burns frankensince (sp.?) in a new place and 'blesses' it.

I'll just say this about spooks. I've never seen one, but do any of you all ever see your dog just sit up and stare at an empty space like someone is standing there? It's hard to explain, but our dogs sometimes have acted like that. They just sit up in bed (yes, they sleep with us sometimes ) like someone suddenly walked in the room and the dog just stares and even twists their head like they're looking and listening to something. The dogs are not agitated or barking ...

I've never tried it, but a friend suggested it when I told her of strange happenings in our newly built home. The smoke is suppose to cleanse your space of bad spirits or energy. It also makes your house stink. Some say it smells like mj. Lol! So instead I did a lot of prayers in the name of Jesus. Then the weird stuff stopped happening.

I used to live in a pretty crappy apartment and had two cats. I never experienced anything and one of the cats never seemed bothered, but the other cat would do odd stuff. Sometimes he'd be in the living room and suddenly start staring up, he'd get down low like he was sneaking up on something and then creep for a second then run. He was obviously chasing something that I couldn't see. He'd even paw at the air sometimes and on several occasions would run down the hall to the bedroom looking up all the time. Once in the bedroom he'd jump on the bed then up on top of a steel gun cabinet at the foot of the bed in the corner of the room and stare at the corner at the ceiling. He'd often slap at nothing up there for a second then lose interest and jump down and wander off acting perfectly normal again.
I heard later that part of the building had burned and been rebult many years before and someone had died in the fire in one of the neighboring apartments. Other than that nothing ever messed with me or did anything that I perceived. At least not at that residence.

Someone already mentioned burning sage. Frankincense works well, too. As to poster mentioned, do not miss any rooms. The intent is as important or more important than the words. Tell negativity and evil to leave your home. Invite only positive energies in. Voice that no evil is permitted in your home or around your family. If you are religious, find a priest (Catholic or Episcopal) both will bless homes.

Moving may not be an option for you but don't encourage the entity or entities by yelling at it or them, allowing it to frighten you or making special concessions for it. If there is unrest in your home, work through it and try to get your family to come to a peaceful place. This will bring good energies into your home to protect you.

I know that sounds new age and wacko but there is more to the world than what we see in the limited light spectrum human eyes can pick up. Ever watch cats follow "nothing"? Ever see dogs bark and "nothing" is there? We are not alone on this plane but that doesn't mean we have to live in fear of it. If it is not wanted or belongs in your home, send it packing.

Get some sage brush, or just pour the sage in a small pile on a saucer. Light it so it smolders. Then go from room to room throughout the house. This technique has been used by American Indians for eons. To drive away evil spirits. Any time I move into a new place. I conduct this ritual, for preventive medicine. Never had any spirit/ghost/demon problems.
