Default Hello from somewhere- ain't telling but heres my survival retreat

New to this forum but a long time off-grid survivalist.

I live full time in my survival retreat which is a fully self contained solar cabin.

Got the idea from this guys plans and videos- good stuff!


Hope to make some friends and share ideas.

He has some other great videos of all his systems on his website and I have used almost all of them for solar, wind, solar composting toilet and even drilled my own water well!

But what about building codes and all of that crap? Don't you have that in the US?

Depends where you are. Some areas have none some will wear you completely out with restrictions and codes.

Where I built in Tenn. I only needed a septic inspection which is mostly to make sure you have one and not dumping on the ground and a final electrical inspection. Nothing else.

Here in the concrete jungle of Florida you need one for everything including changing a light switch or recepticle.

Same as here then..

To avoid all that hassle I have found that a trailer or two might be the simplest solution.
A trailer with a trailertent in front of it will also give you lots of living space even though its not as nice as a real cabin.
